An OmWheel is an aid to meditation as well as just being fun to spin. It can provide a relaxing break from day-to-day chores. It also encourages mild exercise.
A prayer wheel is a cylindrical wheel on a spindle. Traditionally, a mantra is written in Sanskrit externally on the wheel; most commonly the mantra, ‘Om Mani Padme Hum’.
Also very common are the eight auspicious symbols of good fortune, that represent the offerings Buddha received immediately after gaining enlightenment.
The wheel helps in the visualization of these mantras, but often the spinning of the wheel is itself taken to be equivalently effective towards good fortune.
